Actual Review:Well, just rip my heart out and leave me to die, why don’t you Elise? This author and this series get more and more intense as they go on and I love it.
We last saw Vhalla deciding to set off on her own after helping win the war over the North and WW finds her about a couple months later in the crossroads. But the small set of peace that Vhalla has found for herself will not last. Between the batshit crazy Knights of Jadar and the Solaris Family, Vhalla must weave careful trails while trying to find out all she can about the Knights, the Crystal Axe she carries and the Crystal Cavern’s themselves. WW is ripe with the beloved characters we all know and love, soo many beloved side characters like Jax, Baldiar, & Fritz. And this disclaimer should be at the start of every book by Elise Kova ” NO ONE IS SAFE” like serously. Dont get attached to anyone bc odds are they won’t make it. I s2g if Fritz dies in CC, im going to cry and then riot.
The plot is really interesting and we finally know the history of the Great Crystal War & Egmun & whether or not you can trust the Minister of the Tower, Viktor. I actually really liked WW even with the angst between Vhalla & Aldrik bc i felt like this was a big character growth for Vhalla. She knew she could live without Aldrik and always tried to stand firm in her beliefs no matter what. She even let herself trust and confide in Fritz which was absolutely amazing.
Also if you loved Larel, grab some kleenex because she makes a cameo that will rip your heart out and make you cry. Seriously.
This book definitely earns all 5 of the stars I’ve rated it with.
